From Mexico, this is one of the smaller Dahlia species, growing to around 1.5m in the UK. Easy to grow from seed, it has masses of single lilac pink flowers with golden centes on wispy stems set against green pinnate foliage. Mature plants should be hardy in the UK if in a well drained spot - best protect with a mulch.
