Nelumbo nucifera the Lotus flower is an aquatic plant requiring plenty of space and a full sun location to thrive. It is nothing less than spectacular in bloom, with soft pink blossom up to 8” across, opening on top of a stiff stalk emerging directly from below the water. The leaves are enormous, sometimes reaching 2ft across. You will need an indoor pond in a heated environment for this one! The seed can remain viable for up to 200 years but is tricky to germinate.
