Ipomoea Tricolor Heavenly Blue is a tropical relative to our bind weed! But do not worry this one is a half hardy annual. If sown early from seed in a warm Greenhouse in February it will make reasonable growth and be ready for planting out in a warm sheltered position in late May. It can make 6' to 10' growth given plenty of water and food and looks stunning if grown through a loose shrub or together with another climber like a climbing rose where the flowers appear after the rose has had it's main flush. These are easy to raise if you soak the hard seed for 24 hours before sowing. The trumpet shaped flowers of a vibrant sky blue colour between 4" to 5" across bloom and die each day - hence the name.
