Callistemon Rigidus has slightly smaller flowers than some of the more tender species, but well worth growing for an unusual shrub with masses of brilliant bright red flowers about 7-8cm long in early summer. The seed is small, not difficult to grow, with a flowering plant in the second year if sown early.
