Alyogyne huegelii is often called the ‘Blue Hibiscus’ - it’s a close relative to the hibiscus. It heralds from dry southern regions of Australia and works well in a tropical style border as an impact plant. It is really a perennial shrub to 3m or more and given the right conditions can be over wintered if kept frost free. The 12cm flowers are a lovely lilac blue.
