Bauhinia monandra, the Pink Orchid Tree is a fast growing tropical shrub or small tree growing up to a height of 6 metres with a spreading habit. However it may be grown under glass with warmth and bright light and kept pruned to a small size so good for a warm conservatory. This very rare variety develops large pink orchid-like flowers with yellow edged red blotches to 15cm across. The large leaves are also very exotic looking.
