Echium russicum is a fully hardy plant native to Russia and Eastern Europe. Short stout stems carry whorls of long lance-shaped dark green leaves, and a long succession of 30cm spikes of stunning, crimson russet flowers with prominent protruding red anthers. Flowers in its second year from seed.
