Covered in white spines, the new growth is particularly attractive especially in the early morning / late evening light. Enjoys being outside in the summer months in a sunny well drained spot- larger specimens can easily grow 2 or 3 inches in a summer. It Is surprisingly cold tolerant and can probably take a light frost but must be kept dry during the winter months. Safer to bring into a frost free environment for the winter – but protect yourself before digging up!
