Originally from Ethiopia, the arabica coffee is the parent of many cultivars of coffee grown for commercial production. It is popular as a houseplant in the UK with its lush glossy leaves. Not hardy in the UK, it can take temperatures down to around 5C when a good size, and can be grown outside in the summer months before bringing under cover for the winter.
