A rare cousin of the more familiar madagascariensis from Madagascar, this plant originates from Northern parts of South America and has the advantage that it does not grow quite as tall but just as fast growing with plenty of heat and feeding. Makes a useful container plant when small kept in warm conditions, This plant used to be known as Ravenala guyannense.
