Hostas work well as foliage plants in mixed borders and can complement other exotics. Why not grow these expensive plants from seed, it is fairly easy and has the added advantage you will get a wide variety of sizes and shapes. Fully hardy the seeds can take 10-30 days to germinate. Naturally all of these hostas will thrive in shade to partial sun in humus rich soil.
