Asclepias curassavica or Scarlet milkweed, a native to South America, is an erect, evergreen perennial sub-shrub, often grown as an annual in our climate. The bushy plants grow to about 2ft-3ft tall with pretty orange and red flowers borne in terminal clusters that are 2”-4” across and loved by butterflies. It blooms continuously from spring until autumn. They like full sun to partial shade and tolerate both dry and wet conditions.
