Pinto beans are the most commonly used beans in Mexican food and belong to the family Phaseolus vulgaris just like all other beans and easy to grow. They are a pinkish tan colour and spotted when dried. They are originally from Central and South America though they are even found growing towards Mexico and continental U.S. Grow like other dwarf Beans but start off under glass early in pots before planting out in warm conditions in June.
