Native to Southern USA, and some Caribbean islands, the Palmetto palm is a relatively hardy and tolerant palm for the UK with more mature specimens coping with at least -10C, depending on location. When large enough to plant out, find it a sheltered sunny spot preferably in alkaline soil. This is a slow grower but is well worth the wait!
