A small, miniature feather palm, from south east Asia, Phoenix roebelenii has a slender trunk and can grow to about 3 metres in the wild, but up to a metre less in cultivation. Adaptable to a wide range of soils, it enjoys a sunny spot and can take some frost when mature. It's small stature makes it a good palm to grow in a container too.
