Brahea armata is a stunning hardy blue palm which tolerates night frosts in its native habitat. In the US it is tolerant to perhaps -10°C but it really requires a warmer summer than we experience in the UK so more like -5°C here, so needs a mild microclimate if left outside all year round.  Perfect as a cold conservatory plant, which could be wheeled out for some fresh air each year during the summer months. The stiff, fan shaped leaves are covered in a stunning pale blue bloom which looks best in hot dry conditions.
