One of the very hardiest palms in the world and until recently also one of the rarest in cultivation. Coming from Northern Pakistan desert areas Nannorrhops ritchiana should stand temperatures down to -20°C if kept dry. It is a shrubby palm that eventually grows to about 6 metres with thick, blue-green, leathery fan-shaped leaves. In a good summer it will grow reasonably quickly.
